With 58 total entries from 31 drivers racking up an incredible 4,873 laps, racers battled it out in everything from big 1/10-scale touring car divisions (21.5 Stock Touring, 25.5 Stock Touring, Losi Nascar Box Stock) to 1/12-scale, V.T.A., G.T. 12, Tubs-O-Fun, M Chassis, and the pint-sized Mini-Z fleet. The full program delivered non-stop excitement — precision battles in the larger-scale touring cars mixed with frantic wheel-to-wheel chaos in the smaller classes — all at the trackside at crash n bash venue The big cars brought serious horsepower and strategy while the Mini-Zs added pure fun, family rivalries, and laugh-out-loud moments that had the whole pit area on their feet. And when it came to entertainment value, the three dedicated Mini-Z classes absolutely stole the show.
Novice Mini-Z: Where the Newbies Became Heroes
Five fearless first-timers (and a whole lot of Simmons family pride) kicked things off in the Novice class. These box-stock machines kept it simple: stock motors, stock parts, and zero mercy on the track.
Tuesday Simmons grabbed the TQ and never looked back, storming to victory with 22 laps in the 6-minute A-Main. Gage Euchner turned the single fastest lap of the entire class (14.011 seconds — on lap 2, no less!) but still finished one lap back. The Simmons crew packed three of the top five spots, proving that Sunday dinner bragging rights were officially settled on the carpet.
Charlotte Scranton’s early exit? Pure rookie bad luck — but she was smiling ear-to-ear by the end. That’s the beauty of Novice: everyone leaves a winner… except maybe the carpet.
Stock Mini-Z: The Big-Field Brawl
This was the heavyweight division — 11 drivers split into two qualifier heats because the field was simply too stacked. Spec rules kept it fair (stock motors only), but the racing was anything but predictable.
Nick Williams was a man possessed. TQ in hand, he dropped a near-perfect 97.71% consistency run to claim the A-Main with 31 laps. Chris Simmons charged from 2nd on the grid to finish runner-up, while Mathew Rodgers and Aaron Coe battled wheel-to-wheel for third in a photo-finish scrap separated by just 1.5 seconds.
Down in the B-Main, Jason Euchner went full redemption mode, winning convincingly and reminding everyone that even the “back” heat can produce future A-Main monsters.
The Stock class wasn’t just racing — it was a masterclass in precision and patience on the track.
Open Mini-Z: Pure Speed, Zero Limits
And then… the main event. The Open class — where anything goes except the battery limit. These modified monsters were flying at 10-second laps!
Jake Tuel was untouchable. He snagged the TQ, led almost every lap of the A-Main, and dropped a blistering 10.404-second rocket on lap 5 that still has the timing system smoking. Eric Murray kept him honest with 32 laps, while Aaron Coe, Chris Simmons, and Jason Euchner rounded out a top-five that looked more like a who’s-who of multi-class warriors.
